I started taking ballet class when I was three and eventually joined a pre professional dance company when I was ten that I danced with through high school. Despite enjoying performing, I knew that being onstage was not what I was destined to do. I began following my Dad around while he ran sound for the dance company as well as the community theatre in town. From there I started doing sound on my own for my high school's musicals and for the community theatre as well. I enjoyed being in the theatre but missed being in the rehearsal room. I found stage management and never looked back!
Being in dance class, going to see touring shows coming through town, and incessantly watching the 1998 Pro-Shot of Cats with my Grandma turned me into the theatre loving person I am today. When I'm not actively working on a production, you can often find me listening to showtunes or looking for an opportunity to take a trip to New York.
Aside from theatre, I like to say that I am a "consumer of media." Movies, TV, music, books, podcasts, you name it. I am a huge fan of TV shows like 30 Rock and The X Files as well as movies like Postcards from the Edge and The Silence of the Lambs. Some of my favorite musical artists are Brandi Carlile, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, the Indigo Girls, and any other folky singer songwriter you can think of. I love reading memoirs and listening to podcasts like Las Culturistas and Good Hang with Amy Poehler.
I am also an avid cross stitcher! You can see some of my completed projects below. I have also recently picked up knitting and I am enjoying putting my brain to work to learn a new skill!
